HOT JUNE: Celebrate the 50-year Propagation of Chinese Buddhism in Canada

In 1967, late Elder Master Lok To, late Elder Master Shing Cheung and Elder Master Sing Hung founded The Buddhist Association of Canada (TBAC) and pioneered in teaching Chinese Mahayana Buddhism in North America. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the three Masters' propagation of Chinese Mahayana Buddhism in Canada, the successor of the three Masters and current President of TBAC, Abbot of Cham Shan Temple, Ven. Dayi Shi initiated a series of events that will be held in Ontario, Canada in June 2017.
I. China-Canada-US Grand Dharma Ceremony for World Peace
With generous support from the Buddhist Association of China and the American Buddhist Confederation, The Buddhist Association of Canada Cham Shan Temple is able to invite renowned Buddhist Dharma Masters from China, the USA and Canada to preside the Grand Dharma Ceremony and recite the EMPEROR WU OF LIANG'S REPENTANCE in order to pray for world peace and deliver blessings to all sentient beings.

III. China-Canada-US Buddhist Forum
With sponsorships from University of Toronto and the City of Toronto, The Buddhist Association of Canada Cham Shan Temple also initiated the first China-Canada-US Buddhist Forum in the topic of "PERFECTING THE MIDDLE WAY & ENDURING PEACE". Many high-profile scholars, Dharma Masters, Buddhist practitioners from China, US and Canada, and representatives from different levels of governments have confirmed their presence.

VI. Opening Ceremony of the Buddhist Museum in Canada
In memory and celebration of the three founding Masters' 50-year propagation of Chinese Mahayana Buddhism in Canada, Ven. Dayi Shi and The Buddhist Association of Canada decided to open the Buddhist Museum in Canada at the Ten Thousand Buddhas Sarira Stupa. With the Buddhist artifacts and memorabilia collected by the three founding Venerable Masters and Venerable Dayi Shi, the museum is designed to become an educational site of Buddhist history and Buddhadharma for the general public. There will be an exhibition of Chinese calligraphy and painting on the grand opening.
