Wisdom (prajna) in Buddhism is different from intellectual understanding. It is the highest wisdom in seeing all phenomena as incomplete, impermanent and not self. This supreme wisdom is cultivated through self-effort and practice to unveil ignorance, which screens out the fundamental wisdom, which is the Buddha-nature, inherent in every man.
